Deer hide

Sorry, it's a really bad photo.  The lighting is terrible in the basement.

This is my second deer hide (the first was just the hind quarters and came out awful cuz it was my first).   This one I lovingly cared for, breaking and oiling it daily.  It's nearly dry now and very supple. 
There are a lot of blood stains in the neck area (where it was shot), but I got most of it out on the hair side, so you wouldn't notice unless you were looking at the flesh side.

I don't hunt, this was from a old friend who does.  He usually throws the hides out, so when my mom told him I was tanning he gladly donated it.     And the skull there was one my squeamish mother found on the road while she was jogging.  She bravely carried it home in her shirt for me.    She knows how much I love skulls.
